Martin Butler


Senior Lecturer:  Information Systems Management, University of Stellenbosch Business School

Martin Butler holds an Electronic Engineering degree from the University of Pretoria and a MBA (Cum Laude) from the University of Stellenbosch Business School (USB).

Martin has over 12 years of software development, business analysis and project management experience in the IT industry. Clients include organisations in the Agriculture, Automotive, Defence & Aerospace, Financial Services, FMCG, Mining, PetroChemical, Security & Protection Services and Telecommunications verticals, with users ranging from 10 to 700. He has lead project teams in ERP, ESM, system development and IT rollout projects. Projects were completed in both South Africa and the USA, where he has received numerous accolades for delivering complex IT projects within time and budget.

After lecturing part time at the Engineering faculty of the University of Stellenbosch for a number of years, Martin joined the USB as Senior Lecturer in Information Systems Management at the beginning of 2007, where he was voted most inspiring lecturer by the Full Time MBA class of 2007. Martin has delivered papers at conferences in both SA and Asia on the topics of Information Systems and Project Management.

Martin is a research associate at the Institute for Futures Research (IFR) in the broad sphere of technology, and the impact of technology on business. He is also responsible for the IFR’s monthly newsletter, the Leading Edge.

Trophimus Hiwilepo


Chief Information Officer (CIO): Cell One.

Trophimus Hiwilepo, Cell One Chief Information Officer (CIO), responsible for IT since 16 July 2007. Has a B. Sc from UWC and over 14 years experience. Trophimus has held a wide range of positions both in Namibia and internationally in the following organisations, Hydro Namibia, Telecom Namibia, Hydro Angola, Sonangol P&P, Hydro IS Partner and Hydro Oil & Energy.

Chander Nijhon


Chander Nijhon is the Head of the Enterprise Division for Apple IMC  
Southern Africa.


Chander has wide-ranging global experience at the  
intersection of strategy and technology, having worked across four (4)  
continents in developing, advising on and realising strategic  
enterprise technology decisions for organisations of all sizes.

A computer engineer by training, Chander worked for several years as a  
management consultant before joining Apple IMC in Southern Africa. He  
holds bachelor and masters degrees in computer engineering and  
computer science in addition to an MBA from Yale University's School  
of Management. Besides enterprise technology strategy, Chander  
professional interest resides in the area of how technology can  
transform education.

Manfred Engling


Manfred Engling has been in the IT Industry for 40 years and is well known in this industry. Since 2005 Manfred is with Verizon Business Namibia where the company grew from strength to strength under his management.


Immo Böhm


Managing Director: Afresh Consult

Immo holds a BSc degree from the University of Stellenbosch and an MBA from the University of Luton in the UK.
Immo has vast experience in operations and logistics management, inventory optimization, business process reengineering and workflow design. The implementation of a 180 user site at Cymot has given Immo in depth experience of the implementation process, the details of functionality in each HansaWorld module, as well as the technical issues involved in deploying HansaWorld. Immo also completed an advanced programming course on HansaWorld.

Rowan is a Director of iKey Holdings with many years experience in the IT industry.

Greg Manson


Greg is a Business Development Manager with Just Enough Software Corporation, a leading inventory optimization firm based in the USA.

Kevin Clarke


Kevin is the Country Manager of HansaWorld South Africa. Kevin holds a degree from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, focussing his studies on the implementation of business management systems.

Lodewyk van Graan


Lodewyk is the Centre Head of the Institute of Information Technology in Namibia. He is also the chairman of the ICT Alliance of Namibia.
